Yesterday was a Monday.
I have to say... not a horrible Monday,
but one of those, what else crazy or unexpected
might happen??...(especially at school!)
I was going a million miles a minute,
it felt to catch up and be on top of things.
I had students breaking down for
things happening at home,
three milk spills during lunchroom duty
and kids asking me if the pioneers were
able to stop off at Walmart while on the trail.
It was a full moon feeling of a day.
So when I got home I had no intention
on taking some time to just soak in
this special moment....this special memory----
As you know from an earlier post,
my grandparents are very special to me.
I have been close to each one my whole life.
I recently lost two of them, and only have one
left to share in this life with.
My grandmother came by last night, for a quick
visit before we ate dinner. This isn't something that
happens often, as she lives almost an hour away.
Even though the time was ticking away,
and becoming closer and closer to dinner and bed---
we took some extra time to just live.
We watched Hudson run around, play, giggle, and enjoy---
It was the most beautiful night.
It was unexpected.
It was perfect.

What a great reminder to laugh a little harder and talk a little longer. Structure is great but sometimes it's in the moments that we scratch the schedule and live a little that we find the most enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your slice of life.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your slice of life.
Your piece reminds me of the importance of stopping the carousel of our busy lives and to savour these enchanted moments that we will never find again.
ReplyDeleteIt is those moments that appear that we must not miss. What a happy ending to your Monday. I love the picture, Ana! And I did chuckle at the Wal-Mart question. It's not to be forgotten either!
ReplyDeleteUnexpected things do often happen during the full moon. I'm so glad you and Hudson got to spend some extra time with grandma. I saw this picture on Facebook this morning and I giggled at H's stylish taste in clothing and accessorizing. What a character!
